Course History and Description:
The Lucayan Course, at over 6,800 yards, is an 18-hole golf course designed by renowned golf course architect Dick Wilson, open since 1962. Masters and US Open winner Craig Wood was the first professional and declared Lucayan Dick Wilson’s finest design. Wilson is well known for his work at Bay Hill, in Orlando, the Blue Monster at Doral in Miami, and Cog Hill in Illinois.

The par 72 Lucayan Course winds its way through lush tropical landscape, has 73 bunkers, two lakes and and tree lined fairways. The course features tight doglegs, small elevated greens and trademark Dick Wilson craftily placed bunkers protecting almost every pin, making it one of the favorite tournament sites in the Caribbean. The fast well-bunkered greens are the signature feature of this superb course. The most challenging hole is the Par 4, 431 yard 4th hole.

Lucayan has hosted a PGA Tour event, the Caribbean Open, Bahamas National Amateur and many other championships. Notably acclaimed as one of the best courses in The Bahamas and the Caribbean, the Lucayan course is home to the Jim McLean School of Golf and co-host to the annual BREITLING OPEN PRO AM.
