Course History and Description
In the heart of South Louisiana, a short drive north of the Capitol City of Baton Rouge, golfers will find Copper Mill Golf Club, 18 holes of “links-style” golf reminiscent of those in Scotland, providing a unique blend of championship caliber golf and classic “Southern Charm.” Multiple tees on each hole make the course fair and challenging for a wide range of players from high handicappers to those brave enough to test the par-5 12th hole from the championship tees--where it measures 650+ yards!

Designed by golf course architect Nathan Crace, the championship course at Copper Mill is a refreshingly eclectic mix of old world shot-making and contemporary agronomic conditioning. Weaving its way through open fields of native grasses, centuries-old solitary live oaks, and a landscape dotted with strategically placed bunkers, you may forget you are in South Louisiana-save for the two holes that precociously crisscross Cypress Bayou.

Another unique feature of Copper Mill’s layout is its combination of holes with three par 3 holes, three par 4 holes, and three par 5 holes on each nine. This mix makes for not only a change from the rudimentary arrangement encountered on most courses, but also adds a degree of excitement to both tournaments and "friendly wagers" alike. Copper Mill’s course promises to raise the expectations for golfers with unique features, a multitude of risk/reward opportunities, and breath-taking golf vistas. From the hidden green at the par 3 sixth hole to the old mill ruins guarding the left side of the approach into the par 4 seventeenth, you’ll find that each hole at Copper Mill has the potential to create its own memories - leaving you with the daunting task of selecting which hole is your favorite!
