Course History and Description
Desert Pines Golf Club is a pleasantly unexpected touch of the Carolina sandhills in the desert and is just minutes from downtown or the Las Vegas Strip. Perry Dye designed the course with thousands of mature pine trees lining the fairways; white sand bunkers protecting large, undulating greens patterned after those at Augusta National and with water coming into play on 9 out of 18 holes. Golf Digest recognized Desert Pines as one of the “Best New Upscale Courses” in the country. It is a course that may well require the use of every club in the bag and often rewards shot selection and course management over long tee shots.

Often referred to as the “Pinehurst” of Las Vegas, the clubhouse hosts a Golf Shop featuring name brand golf apparel, equipment, souvenir and logo’d items and rentals of Callaway Clubs and FootJoy shoes and a collection of autographed golf balls and memorabilia from pros and celebrities who have played the course. Duffers Bar and Grill is open for breakfast and lunch everyday. On-course beverage cart service is available.

The Desert Pines Practice Center is a 58 bay, two-tiered, climate controlled practice facility with automatic ball return and lighted for evening practice. The automated ball returns means golfers don’t have to bend over to tee up each new ball. Target holes are patterned after some of the most famous par 3’s in the country. Two teaching Bays are available for instruction by PGA instructors and offer the latest in video teaching technology. The Practice Center also features its own snack bar for light fare and libations throughout the day and evening.

To add a little gaming excitement to the round, Desert Pines- offers a “Beat The Pro” challenge for all golfers who can test their skill against course personnel on a Par 3 closest to the hole contest for merchandise credit in the golf shop.
