The Arnold Palmer and Francis Duane designed Bay Course is the forerunner of Kapalua’s three championship golf courses. At 6,600 yards this par 72 features rolling fairways and generous greens. The Bay Course is an excellent example of resort golf at its best.

Signature Holes
The Bay Course Hole #4: This dogleg left 321-yard par four bordering the Pacific and tempts the long hitter to cut the dogleg and have a go at the green. The smart play is to approach the green from the right of the fairway bunker and, due to tradewinds, favor the right side of the green. Although a short hole, a par is well deserved.

The Bay Course Hole #5: This 154-yard par three hole promises to be one of the most dramatic golf holes in the world! Your tee shot must carry 100 yards over the Pacific Ocean. This shot may seem uncomplicated because it’s downwind, but this also leads many shots to find the bunkers that flank the back of the green.

The Bay Course Hole #16: A challenging 345-yard par four that demands your best drive of the day. The tee shot must carry a water hazard and then find its way to a fairway that is divided by a winding creek. After negotiating this your second shot must carry to an elevated two-tiered green. If this hole sounds tough, that’s because it is!

The Bay Course Hole #18: How you play this hole will depend on your drive. A strong tee shot will set up a chance to go for the green in two. Shorter hitters can use slope of the fairway to position their second shots, leaving them a short iron to the green. Six bunkers protect this green, making all approaching shots that much tougher.

Kapalua Golf Academy
The Kapalua Golf Academy was designed in conjunction with senior PGA TOUR professional, Hale Irwin and offers a unique state-of-the-art golf facility unmatched in Hawai‘i. The facility features 85,000 square feet of grass teeing area, several practice putting greens, greenside and fairway bunkers, an 18-hole putting course, a minimum of eight target greens and specialty short game area. The Kapalua Golf Academy also features a 3,500-square foot learning center housing classroom instruction, a digital video bay and a strength and flexibility area. A teaching staff of over 25 PGA professionals is available to guide students through casual or intensive instruction.
