Course History and Description
The Legend at Giants Ridge is famous for all the right reasons; bentgrass fairways, white sand bunkers, sparkling blue lakes, giant boulders and towering trees are make-up this spectacular course. The Legend has left its footprint on the very nature of the game garnering a prestigious 4.5 star rating (two years in a row) from Golf Digest and has been named Minnesota's #1 Public Golf Course. This caliber of play has to be experienced to be believed.

In 2005, the evaluators for Golf Digest magazine placed The Legend at #88 on America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses, and The Quarry at #16, making Giants Ridge the state’s only two-course resort with both its offerings ranked on the list.

Giants Ridge is a resort like no other. When golfers experience the two 18-hole courses, The Legend at Giants Ridge and The Quarry at Giants Ridge, they rediscover golf as it was meant to be played--and they'll know why this resort has been named among the "Top Six Golf Destinations in the World," by GolfWorld magazine.

Accommodations
Stay right on the edge of the action at The Lodge at Giants Ridge or the Villas at Giants Ridge, two classic sites that blend north woods charm with comfort. The Lodge offers 93 suites, indoor swimming pool and spa and on-site dining, all at the foot of the ski area and The Legend Golf Course. The Villas are luxury condominiums and cabin style villas overlooking Wynne Lake, a private beach and more.

Originally, Giants Ridge Golf & Ski Resort first served as a local ski area with our first downhill run cut out of the mountain forest in the mid 1950s. Today, the resort offers the two finest resort-style golf courses in the Midwest, mountain biking, a variety of winter sports activities, including skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling, and all of the charm, culture and history of northeastern Minnesota's Iron Range.
