Course History and Description
Oyster Reef Golf Club, originally opened in 1982, proudly features an award winning 18-hole championship course. This Rees Jones design has been voted one of the top 20 courses in the Carolinas and most recently was awarded Low County Golf Course Owners Association "2006 Golf Club of the Year".

Oyster Reef Golf Club has also been named as one of the "Top 75 U.S. Golf Resorts" by Golf Digest and was named as the favorite course of Hilton Head Island golfers by The Island Packet newspaper.

Carved out of 190 acres of breathtaking low country terrain, Oyster Reef Golf Club's spectacular 18-hole championship course is surrounded by winding lagoons, lush vegetation, and scenic views of the Island.

Oyster Reef Golf Club, located on the Hilton Head Plantation winds its way through a pine forest where thick stands of live oak and pines line the fairways. Sixty-six bunkers are well placed off the elevated tees and guard undulating 2 and 3-tiered greens. Numerous dog-leg fairways, accented by strategically located mounds and fairway bunkers, call for well-planned tee shots. The greens vary in size and their well-defined tiers place a premium on precise approach shots. Excellent course conditions year around and details such as oyster shell walls in the design create a unique South Carolina experience.

Hole #6, a par 3 with Port Royal Sound in the background, has been recognized by many as one of the most spectacular holes on Hilton Head and it has been pictured on the cover of many golf magazines.
