Consistently rated amongst the nation's best, Tobacco Road is the one course that leaves you and your golfing friends begging for more. The scene is so breath-taking you will want to bring along your camera to forever capture the greatness of "The Road". Playing at a length of 6500+ yards from the Ripper tees, Tobacco Road was rated as high as second in slope to the famed Ocean Course at Kiawah Island.

Trademark Hole Descriptions:
Hole #1 Par 5 558-Yards:
Probably the most intimidating tee shot on the course, especially for a first hole. A wide landing area awaits your tee shot if you can navigate the two large hills that protect it. A decent drive that finds the fairway, will leave either a short lay up for the shorter hitter, or a blind second shot over two mounds for those long hitters trying to reach the green in two. No easy birdie hole, but three well-placed shots will be rewarded with a good chance at starting out under par.

Hole #9 Par 4 427-Yards:
This par 4 is arguably the hardest on the course. The drive is the first in a series of steps you must follow to keep the big number from appearing on your scorecard. The second shot is uphill to an elevated green. If the pin is on the front of the green, play the yardage as is. When the pin is in the middle add 10 yards, and with a back pin location add 15 yards. There is no bailout, so be sure of what you want to do when hitting your second shot. Left isn’t good and any shot right will leave you an uphill sand shot that is very difficult to judge.

Hole #13 Par 5 573-Yards:
Be wary of any shortcuts here. A demanding hole that will require three well-placed and thought out shots. From the tee finding the fairway is key. For the second shot, play a club that will leave a full wedge or 9 iron into a hidden green. This is critical, as the green is only 16 yards deep, so knowing your yardage is vital. The green is hidden behind a mound that time and nature has created, and is dissected by a large swale. Par is a good score but to those who trust their yardage, birdie is always a possibility.

Hole #16 Par 4 326-Yards:
A short par 4 that is one of the most talked about on the course. The player first must choose a club to clear the mound that protects the landing area. Again, trust the yardage on the tee markers. After a successful drive into the landing area, the player is left with a short iron into a green that is 2 tiered. Anything that is short of the green will run down the false front some 25 yards down the hill. Birdies are abundant, but bogies await those who get caught up in the beauty of this hole.

Hole #18 Par 4 432-Yards:
Every course needs a finishing hole that demands precision. You will drive over a large waste area that protects to a fairly wide fairway. It may not look so from the tee but trust us. A good drive down the right hand side of the fairway will leave the player a middle iron into a large narrow green. Anything left will collect into a large swale where bogies are abundant. Birdies are rare, but paring this last hole will leave you feeling like you have won the battle.
